How To Improve Your Morning Routine
Our morning routines are incredibly important – they help to set the day up for success, giving us the right amount of energy needed to conquer whatever is thrown at us. However, although most of us know how important mornings routines are, it’s still ridiculously difficult to find the motivation to get the ball rolling.
If you’re sick and tired of rolling out of bed after snoozing your alarm and ending up late for work, it’s time to mix things up a bit. It’s time to improve your morning routine with the following tips. Good luck!
What Should I Do Immediately After Waking Up?
As soon as you wake up, it’s recommended to fuel your body. Think of yourself as a car – without gas, you won’t have the energy to go about your day. There are two things you can do here; either have a quick cold shower or head to the k coffee machine or coffee machine. While both tasks should be done during your morning routine anyway, it’s entirely up to you to decide which one goes first. Both actions will leave you feeling fresh and ready to start the day, and who knows, you may even find that you get the rest of your routine done far more quickly once these tasks are out the way.
What To Drink After Waking Up
As mentioned previously, coffee is the best thing to drink when waking up. It will immediately give you all the caffeine needed to put a spring in your step! If you aren’t a fan of coffee, however, then drinking a glass of cold water is the next best option. For a glass of super refreshing water, ensure you use a water filter so that it’ll always be the purest it can be. There’s no better way to start your day.
Get Up Earlier To Exercise
While many of us constantly blame lack of exercise on not having enough time, it’s amazing to see how much stuff you can get done when you wake up a little bit earlier. Exercise releases all of the endorphins necessary to get you feeling pumped, and once the hard work is done, you’ll be left feeling clear-minded and ready for the day.
We understand that early morning exercise isn’t for everyone, but luckily for you, the activity never has to be too strenuous. A brisk sunrise walk/run will be sure to do the trick. And you’ll get to see some beautiful views along the way!
Stay Away From Screens
For a lot of us, our mobile phones are the things we look at right before we sleep and the second we wake up. However, it has been proven that staring at screens contributes to fatigue, leaving us feeling sluggish and in need of a nap by mid-afternoon. To prevent this, set yourself the challenge of keeping your phone far away from your bed – and only look at it once you’ve finished your morning routine. You’ll soon realize just how much more time you have to get on with your routine rather than getting distracted by your social media timeline!
Eat Well
Giving yourself enough time to have a proper breakfast or food in a personal blender, blender or immersion blender is also one of the most important things to do in your new and improved morning routine. Breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day, and if you’re not fuelling your body with the right foods, you’ll find yourself overeating and lacking in energy as the hours’ tick by. A generous bowl of oatmeal with fresh fruit of your choice will definitely hit the spot.
Set Yourself Daily Goals
Got an important task that must be done today but fear you’ll get too distracted to complete it? Take some time out of your morning to set daily goals.
By setting daily goals, you’ll have a clear idea as to what you want to achieve on that day. Whether these goals are quick tasks or larger challenges, writing them down will keep you focused and on the ball. And, not to mention, there’s nothing more satisfying than ticking off your to-do list as the day goes on.
Never Hit The Snooze Button
As tempting as it may be when you’re sleeping in your lovely mattress, hitting the snooze button several times every morning is a recipe for disaster. Every minute that ticks by is another minute that you could have spent perfecting your morning routine and setting your day up for greatness.
Although easier said than done, the best way to ensure you never hit the snooze button is by putting your alarm over the other side of your room. This will ensure that you have to get up and out of bed to turn it off, and once you’re up, you’ll find that your body is more than ready to start the day. It’s this very small action that can save you from a whole lot of stress.
