The Best Shower Caddy
Instead of feeling around the shower curtain or fumbling about below your feet when your eyes are drowning in hot soapy water, a shower caddy is one of the best ways of making use of space that otherwise might be empty, and caddies are ideal for keeping bathroom products right at hand when you shower. Keeping your loofah, shampoo, or razors handy is what a shower caddy is for and they're ideal for placing in a corner for when you don't want to go back and forth for your shower supplies.
We looked at some shower caddies that can be suctioned onto a tiled or painted wall, and those that can be permanently fixed. Our team tested some that are stainless steel and of a wire design, those that are plastic and easily cleaned, and those made of mesh. They're great for organizing and popping kids' bits too - creating a station where you can keep all those annoying bits to hand.
Here are our 14 best of 2020 with some tips at the bottom of the page for those wanting a few ideas on how to stop metal caddies from rusting or slipping off the wall when they get wet and soapy.
Material polished brushed silver
Weighs 1.4 lbs
Adhesive wall attachment
We start off our review list with the KINCMAX Shower Caddy Basket Shelf with Hooks as our best choice. It’s really versatile and can even be used in other areas like the utility room or kitchen. It looks good in polished stainless steel and the four hooks supplied with it are great for hanging extra accessories on. This really is a good choice for keeping your bathroom bits organized and neat and, unlike your shampoos or shower gels being hidden out of sight in a bathroom cabinet storage, you’ll be able to see exactly what it is you need easily. We like that it simply sticks to the wall with an adhesive strip that spans past the width of the caddy although you won’t be able to use the sticky tape on textured walls. We were simply unsure though how long the adhesive will last in humid conditions, although it does promise to last two years.
Need a second adhesive if you want to move it
Material metal/color options
Weighs 3.54 lbs
Adhesive wall attachment
Our best value is the Zenna Home Bronze Shower Tension Pole Caddy which does come in different coloring if you prefer. It’s supplied in the bronze color that we tested, as well as shiny chrome and matte nickel and a coated white which is good if you prefer to keep everything looking the same.
It fits in the corner and has four eight-inch deep shelves which are adjustable so as far as a corner shower caddy goes this fits really well into many spaces. Even though you might pay over the average price for the Zenna, this shower caddy is a great buy. Just because of the price and the way it can be placed anywhere, the Zenna Home, Bronze Shower Tension Pole Caddy is our best value choice.
Pop over the bath or in the shower room
Some assembly needed
Not for heavy items
Material metal/coated stainless steel plated
Height per shelf 2.0″ to 3.9″
Weighs 1.32 lbs
Perfect for the powder room, ensuite, or the main bathroom the SMARTAKE 2-Pack Corner Shower Caddy fits into a corner and provides plenty of space to fit any bathroom accessories that you need to hand. It comes in a coated silver or bronze color. You will receive two of the same sized shelving depending on what size shelves you order and you can place each shower caddy shelf where you want them both.
They are functional more than they are stylish, but then storage is better than looks right? The weight of the larger size, which we didn’t test, is approximately 1.6 lbs.
Metal wire type design
Easy to put into place
Great storage shelves
Won’t fit walls that aren’t perfect 90 degrees
Suction cups are strong so no room for moving
Keeping your skincare or hair care products on this hanging shower caddy is pretty easy and it can be hung over your existing fittings. The AmazonBasics Linear Shower Caddy comes in black and the bottom basket shelf acts as a good place for your soap dish while you place your other bathroom accessories like shampoo conditioner and other personal care items up on the other two shelves. Because it hangs, we thought you might like that it doesn’t need to be fully attached unless you want to add permanent fittings to your shower room. The metal wire makes it easy to wipe clean.
Good fit anywhere you can hang
Only one color option – matte black
Hang rather than using suction cups unless you have plain walls
Material stainless steel matte black coated
Weighs 1.4 lbs per shelf
Adhesive wall attachment
Very similar to our first review from KINCMAX (no. 1 on our 2020 review list) is the KINCMAX 2-Tier Black Shower Caddy Bathroom Shelf but this time you get to have two coated stainless steel caddies in black or polished silver for just a few dollars extra. We like the matte black color and the chance to get two for about 1/3 of the price you might buy just one.
As we said earlier though, the adhesive needs to be applied to flat and untextured walls.
One extra adhesive strip supplied
Need to use second adhesive if you want to move it
Material polished stainless steel
Weighs 5.09 lbs
We had to choose a premium pick and, in our line up, it had to be the ALLZONE 4-Layer Tension Pole Corner Shower Caddy which is not just ABS safe and a fantastic size, it can hold so much weight. It’s a good tension corner shower caddy and gives you loads of storage space so as our premium pick we thought this was a great high-quality caddy and one of the best shower caddies for the money.

The Zenna Home 3-Tier Bronze Shower Caddy is an affordable option if you are looking for a good space to pop all your bathroom accessories in, like the conditioner, shampoos, and shower soaps. It’s a brilliant option if you need to use space above your bathtub or in your shower and it hangs neatly. It’s pretty simple looking but the black color means it fits into any decor. We love this hanging shower caddy because of its design and that you can hang it anywhere it will fit, like the shower rail, towel rail, or radiator – without the need for removing fittings when you want to move it.
We tested the bronze color but it’s also available in shiny chrome or stainless steel color. The only downside would be that your shower wall might not have available space to hang it. The positives are that it has two deep shelves with another bottom soap or cloth dish and it works well in most spaces where bathroom storage is needed.
Available in three colorways
Could fit on the towel rail or radiator
Coated wire rather than sturdy stainless steel
Will rust in a short time
With ABS plastic suction cups and holding a weight of up to 22 lbs, the LEVERLOC Suction Cup Shower Shelf is an affordable option for those wanting to hold toiletries and keep them at hand. We weren’t sure about the white plastic design but this does ensure that it’s easy to wipe clean compared to mesh shower caddies. Each shelf is a good size so does hold a fair bit. One shelf is fairly pricey so for those looking for a bit more space-saving you might want to look at a pole shower caddy or those where you can get multiple hanging shower shelves, although they might be lower quality.
Not metal which chances rusting
Easy to put into place
Can be moved
Rust-free ABS plastic
Only sticks to smooth surfaces

The SimpleHouseware Bathroom Hanging Shower Head Caddy is a simple hanging shower caddy featuring a shower head hanging attachment so you don’t need specialist fittings in order to pop in your shower or over your bathtub, and it seems to tick the box where types of shower caddies come to mind. Simply pop over the shower head and keep in place with a suction cup.
It does feature alloy steel which is rust-resistant and it’s ready to use without the faff of having to measure and drill in fittings. Will fit over any shower heads due to its neatly designed shape.
Ready to use
Caddy stainless steel material
Needs quick assembly
Suction cup not very strong
Material tempered glass
Glass depth 0.32″
Weighs 4.75 lbs
Adhesive wall attachment
Although this isn’t priced at mid-range and doesn’t come at the highest cost on our review list, the GeekDigg 2-Pack Glass Shelf Corner Shower Caddy Shelves is well designed and unlike most other bathroom shower caddies on our list, it looks sleek and comes in a two-pack.
We like the glass shelves with aluminum colored brackets that are easily attached to walls or tiles with a powerful adhesive. This is the best shower caddy idea if you want the classy look of glass without having to drill into your wall, and it can be placed outside the shower, like regular bathroom shelves. As far as shower organizers go this is a truly classic option – and nobody will know that the shelves are stuck to the wall rather than being permanently fitted into it.
Easy to fit
Max. load per shelf 20 lbs
High-end budget needed
Glass needs constant cleaning
A typical three or four-tier shower caddy, the Tenby Living 3-Shelf Shower Organizer Caddy comes in ivory. It’s a free-standing shower organizer that will sit in the corner of your bathroom shower or powder room so you won’t run out of space to put your accessories in. You can wall-mount it too.
The shelves can be adjusted slightly within about three inches for the taller bathroom accessories and it has adjustable feet if you choose not to mount it on the wall. It may not fit into every bathtub corner though so it’s worth checking the sizes. We like the addition of a soap dish and that there are drainage holes so water and damp don’t collect in the recesses.

This is a fab bathroom shower caddy if you are trying to save space and look for the best shower accessory that doesn’t require fittings like screws or suction cups. The KIMBORA Mesh Shower Caddy Hanging Bathroom Organizer is of a mesh design and dries quickly so there aren’t any worries of leaving a damp shower caddy in your bathroom when you’re finished.
We thought it would make a great space-saving shower organizer for the smallest of spaces, perhaps including a shared dorm or the family RV, it could even be placed in the closet on the clothes pole. Simply use it as a door shower caddy or hang on the shower pole for the best space saver which keeps small bottles and bathroom accessories handy. With 9 pockets, three small and six larger, it is surprisingly spacious. It is designed in such a manner that it can be placed outside of the shower also, in that case, you can store your toothbrushes, tongue cleaners, razors, and body brushes in it. As our budget pick, this is so cheap and well worth trying. It could even be good to keep kids’ bath toys stored without interfering with the shower door. As far as cheap shower organizers go this is probably the best shower option for the lower budget or those short on space.
Easy to hang
Sturdy and wear-free
Won’t interfere with the shower curtain
Flimsy hanging rings – replaceable
Not for those looking for high-end design
If you’re looking for two-tier caddies with two hooks spare for extra hanging space then the Flowmist 2-Tier Wall Mounted Aluminum Corner Shower Caddy is a pretty good choice. It comes at a pretty average and affordable price and it does sit in the shower stall or above the bathtub really well. Slip it in the corner well away from your shower door to keep bathroom accessories to hand. The hooks are great for hanging on razors, loofahs, or lightweight shower gels with hooks on the lid so that you can keep everything in sight when you shower.
It comes with adhesive strips that are best used on a flat surface so won’t be much good if you have textured tiles or walls. We liked that you can add rubber strips to the edges so that you don’t have to be concerned about cutting hands on the sharp parts.
Great corner bathroom shower caddy
Simple yet functional
Poor fittings may need replacing
Material stainless steel and anodized
Weighs 3.4 lbs
Hangs over shower head
This is the Zenna Home Expandable Over-The-Shower Caddy which hangs over shower heads so that it fits onto any handheld shower or permanent hanging fixture. We tested the bronze color although there is a chrome finish to choose from if you prefer the shiny contemporary look.
This is great if you don’t need to store a lot of bathroom accessories or have too much on show, and we thought it would be a great shower organizer for a couple or family that wants to separate individual items. The suction cups are strong enough for lightweight shower accessories but not really for heavy items as it will slide or pop right off the wall.

Features To Consider With Shower Caddies
Not much consideration and time goes into choosing shower caddies but you might be surprised that a little effort goes a long way. You don't have to have a massive budget but it's probably important to you, as it was to us, that the shower caddy stays in place. Shower caddies come in all different sizes and shapes so whether you want it to hang on your shower head, need strong suction cups that will stay put yet allow you to move the caddy when you need to, or if you want a corner feature, we have below some tips on choosing shower caddies to suit your space.
Most shower caddies don't need permanently fixing and can be moved if you need to. You'll find a number of attachment methods such as adhesive strips, suction cups, hanging rings for over the shower rail, or a hanging loop so you can place the caddy over a shower head.
The material is important both in the way it looks and lasts. Make sure you look at the rust-resistant claims so that it doesn't start to corrode within just a few days of being in the humid shower environment.
Number of Tiers
The greater the number of tiers, the more surface space you have but if your chosen caddy isn't tall or adjustable you might struggle with placing taller bottles and other accessories. More tiers look great but aren't perfect if you have larger items to store.
Important - the finish and how it is treated will mean that your new caddy might or might not be rust-resistant. In most cases, a plastic finish will, of course, not rust and is easy to clean. A metal finish such as steel and anodized aluminum will be treated for rust resistance but might not last as long as other types of materials.
No point getting a caddy that looks good but can't hold a few shampoo bottles. Even the best shower caddy with constant tension can topple over with heavier items placed at the top. Some suction cups are really strong but that doesn't mean they can take much weight. Check in the description when you're researching to see if there has been a test on weight application.
Shower Caddy FAQ
Q: How do you stop metal shower caddies from rusting?
Whilst even the best shower caddy claims to be rust-resistant, over time the humidity can cause corrosion. If you are concerned about this, the best method is prevention - wipe the caddy dry after each shower. This isn't the perfect answer if you are short on time and patience! You can use a rust removal spray or even a clear waterproof lacquer before you even use the caddy to prevent the onset of unsightly rust.
Q: Why does my suction shower caddy keep falling off?
The suction cups may not be strong enough or able to adhere to your textured wall. When they become older they will wear and become weak. Remember though, the suction style attachment will not hold much weight.
Try taking the caddy off the wall, drying the cups and the wall thoroughly then reattaching. Other than that you might need to replace the cups or use a different method to attach the caddy.
