Lets face it, organizing storage isn't the most exciting thing to do but when you do, and you get it right, it just seems to work. The kitchen can become a nightmare if it's disorganized so having a cleanout, deciding what utensils to keep and what to dispose of then measuring and lining your kitchen drawers you will be able to get a decent drawer organizer - helping you with kitchen storage & fridge organizers so that you can keep things like cutlery, cooking and bakery items where they're handy, and of course where you can find them when they're needed.
We decided to review 12 of what we consider the best to test this year. For kitchen drawer space we looked at some expandable cutlery organizers, eco-friendly options such as high-quality bamboo, and divider collections but mainly we have combined some affordable options and most importantly for some, great design.
The Unclutterer team wants you to declutter your space, have fun!

2. Royal Craft Wood Adjustable Bamboo Drawer Dividers – 4 Pack

Key Features
Bamboo
Set of 4 dividers
Fit 17″ to 22″ drawers
2.4″ deep (approx.)
The Royal Craft Wood Adjustable Bamboo Drawer Dividers are of good quality finish and feel really sturdy. You can use all four in one drawer to make five compartments, or use fewer in smaller sized drawers. They are spring-loaded so 22 inches can be reduced to almost 17 inches. We like that they could be placed vertically or horizontally so you can keep larger or less frequently used cookware at the back of the drawer. They also work well in bedroom, bathroom, and office furniture.
Pros
Expandable
Foam ends for a sturdy hold
Healthy, eco-friendly bamboo
Cons
Will need to attach foam pads on installation

It’s easy to keep clutter-free with expandable cutlery drawers but the mDesign Adjustable Plastic 4 Compartment Kitchen Drawer Organizer is useful in small areas too including the RV, bedroom, and office drawers where it really is important to be organized. It is designed to be versatile so can be expanded width-ways so a compartment can be made larger than others to fit larger utensils, or of course makeup, bathroom bits, and office stationery. The expandable tray can adjust to approximately 10 inches.
Pros
BPA free
Versatile & sturdy
Shatter proof
Transparent plastic
Cons
Textured bottom needs brush for cleaning
Sturdier drawer organizers available
4. KitchenEdge Premium Utensil Organizer for Kitchen Drawers

Key Features
100% bamboo
9 to 11 compartments
17.25″ long
2.5″ deep
The second of our expanding bamboo drawer organizers, the KitchenEdge Premium Utensil Organizer for Kitchen Drawers is our premium pick for good reason. It expands widthways up to 33 inches so it offers a larger drawer capacity than our best choice (no. 1 on our list). At its smallest, there are 9 compartments, ideal for sets of cutlery with expansion giving you the option for two larger compartments if your drawer has room for it. This adjustable drawer sorter is just a little deeper than most other organizers and it’s surprising how much that little bit makes a big difference.
Pros
Healthy & sustainable bamboo
Great design
Extra large & adjustable
Removable side slots
Cons
Heavy
Could be 4 instead of 5 central compartments
5. Practical Comfort Adjustable Aluminum Drawer Organizer

Key Features
Aluminum design
10 compartments (variable)
Up to 22″
The Practical Comfort Adjustable Aluminum Drawer Organizer is a great way to sort your drawer into smaller compartments and fit the width dividers to suit the contents you wish to store. Available in small, medium and large you won’t need tools to configure the compartments. The small goes up to 17.5 inches, the medium to 19.7 inches, and the large to 22 inches. Practical Comfort will supply the many pieces you need to set up the organizer but be sure to measure the width and length of the drawer so you order the right size. Depending on how you put it together you can benefit from up to 10 separate compartments or fewer. A tip is to put a drawer liner in so that you can simply remove the contents and replace the liner when dust or dirt collects. Even try a non-slip option.
Pros
Easy to set up
Versatile
Cons
Have to line drawer first
Not great for heavy items
Feels quite flimsy
6. Lipper International 5 Section Bamboo Kitchen Drawer Organizer

Key Features
Bamboo
5 compartments
14″ long
2″ deep
The least expensive doesn’t have to be the worst. Here is the Unclutterer budget pick, a pretty basic kitchen drawer organizer that can of course be used in other pieces of furniture around the house, office, or workshop. The Lipper International 5 Section Bamboo Kitchen Drawer Organizer could even work to keep craft items handy on the countertop or desk. It’s lightweight, simply designed, and the dividers are built-in so there’s no worry about things moving underneath and merging with other items. It claims to be made of bamboo, we aren’t sure if it is 100% but there is nowhere that the manufacturer says it isn’t. This solid storage organizer could be made a non-slip by simply popping some adhesive foam pads underneath, a good idea if it doesn’t fit the exact measurements of your drawer.

7. Madesmart Non-Slip Rubber Silverware Tray

Key Features
Plastic
6 compartments
16″ long
1.88″ deep
Available in 5 colors, the Madesmart Non-Slip Rubber Silverware Tray makes for great storage. The manufacturer has thought this design out thoroughly; it has non slip rubber feet so it doesn’t move around in the kitchen drawer or whichever piece of furniture you choose to use it in. They have also added a non-slip liner to the bottom of the tray so that utensils and other pieces of equipment don’t slip around. Great if you don’t want your silverware to scratch when they bump together. Because this is not adjustable, do remember to measure and give yourself space around the sorter so that you don’t have to wedge it in. It’s worth mentioning if you prefer the same design and size but with half the number of compartments, MadeSmart does other drawers organizers and there’s another at no.12 on our list, available in black.
Pros
Inexpensive
Curved corners for easy cleaning
For extra large drawers, can use more than one
Additional bins and knife mat available
Great % of 5* reviews
Cons

100% bamboo
Set of 4 dividers
12.25″ – 17.25″ OR 16.8″ – 21.8″ long
2 sizes available
2.36″ deep (approx.)
Much like our best choice, the Royal Craft dividers (no. 2 on our review list) these adjustable drawer dividers come in a set of 4 and are made of bamboo. That’s where the differences might end though. The Utoplike 4 Piece Individual Bamboo Kitchen Drawer Dividers is a great gift or a perfect treat for your home, especially where you need good storage. And, it’s easy to wipe clean.
Pros
Versatile
Sustainable bamboo
Use in any drawer
Spring loaded
Cons
May move slightly
9. Backery Supply Clear Plastic Drawer Organizers

Key Features
Acrylic
Set of 10
Variable lengths
2″ deep
Available in two colors, clear or tinted, these Backery Supply Clear Plastic Drawer Organizers can be used as kitchen drawer organizers or for anywhere that you need to have a sort out. All of the drawer trays supplied are 2 inches deep and in our opinion are a good answer to organizing a variety of items. The only thing the Unclutterer team would say is that each compartment is a separate tray and they aren’t fixed so a good bit of advice would be to ensure you get some foam adhesive pads so they don’t move about as you open and close the drawer. They are, however, handy for the worktop if you don’t want fixed organizers in your drawers. The champagne color is definitely a color of choice, very retro!
Pros
Versatile storage option
BPA free
Recycled
Easy to clean
Stackable
Cons
Slanted sides/lose space
May prefer a fixed option
10. Seville Classics Bamboo Expandable Kitchen Drawer Organizer

Key Features
Bamboo/wood composition
3 to 5 compartments
18″ long
2.5″ deep
Ideal for an 18 inch long drawer, this is the third expandable bamboo drawer organizer on our review list. The Seville Classics Bamboo Expandable Kitchen Drawer Organizer expands on the width from 13 to 23 inches giving you the flexibility to store more or fewer utensils and other items as you need. It can be used in any furniture with a drawer or on the work surface to keep everything sorted and within reach. If you use it as an expandable cutlery drawer it works well and we think it’s a great value piece for any home. You might like, as with all our other bamboo pieces, the manufacturer claims it is made entirely from sustainable material. We beg to differ. The central compartments are 3.75 inches wide, the end ones when extended fully are 4.75 inches. Although it’s our best value choice, it’s a cheaper alternative to the similarly designed Dynamic Gear (no.1) and the KitchenEdge (no.4) we have featured.
Pros
Great drawer storage
Solid
Wipe clean
Cons
Can’t remove extendable parts
Not 100% bamboo
Poor build
11. Sorbus FlatwareExpandable Mesh Drawer Organizer

Key Features
Bamboo/wood composition
6 to 8 compartments
16.75″ long
2″ deep
Expanding from just under 11.4 inches to 19.5 inches wide, you can choose to use 6, 7, or 8 compartments in this mesh designed Sorbus FlatwareExpandable Drawer Organizer. We like the industrial style but some may think it looks cheap however it really does a good job at organizing bits and pieces. As a tip, we think that a drawer liner under this drawer organizer is a good idea to pick up any dust and debris that collects through use. We didn’t like that if there’s a spillage you need to remove the whole unit and scrub clean any sticky stuff. It does make it easy if you’re looking for handy storage.
Pros
Useful & affordable
Large capacity
Expandable storage
Cons
May prefer a more solid design
12. Madesmart 3 Compartment Classic Utensil Tray

Key Features
Plastic
6 compartments
16″ long
1.87″ deep
The second Madesmart plastic drawer organizer on our list. The Madesmart 3 Compartment Classic Utensil Tray is great for drawers needing good solid storage. Again it isn’t adjustable, but it is a good choice. While no.7 on our list is the same size, this one has three larger compartments whilst the no.7 Madesmart has 6 smaller ones. As far as organizers for drawers go this comes with non-slip rubber feet and a non-slip liner so cutlery and other items don’t slide around. We do like the ‘no-frills’ storage designs as well as the clever, more modern drawer organizers, though you might like that it doesn’t need assembly and is easy to clean. Great for sorting out a kitchen space or other area.
Pros
BPA free
Non-slip
Sturdy
Easy clean
Cons
Advertised measurements may be slightly smaller
Features To Consider With Kitchen Drawer Organizers
If you want to neaten up utensils, bakeware, and other items in your kitchen or alternative pieces of furniture around the home, drawer organizers are a brilliant way to sort your stuff. We all have the dreaded drawer that frustrates us every time we look in it for something - the never-ending junk drawer! Helping you organize your kitchen drawers, here are a few tips on types available and, you might not know it, there are plenty of different drawer organizers to look out for.
Adjustability
Always a great idea if you don't have standard sized kitchen drawers, expandable organizers are typically the same length (front to back of the drawer) but will adjust width ways. This gives you the chance to use the standard compartments, or add to them. Some great examples we have seen are those made from organic bamboo but there are cheaper alternatives that do the same thing. If you don't have organizers with drawers already and choose non-adjustable ones then always ensure you measure the drawer and that you allow 1/4" or more on the inside compartments so you know your longest item will actually fit!
Ease of Cleaning
Any organizer will collect debris and dust no matter how careful we are so anything that's easy to clean is a bonus. If you opt for a modern design in wood then chances are it will have squared edges which means taking an old manual toothbrush to the inside corners to clean any sticky bits.
A wooden organizer will be wiped clean only so can't be submerged in water or it will warp.
A plastic (acrylic) organizer is likely to have curved edges which makes it so much easier to clean, and it can be submerged in soapy water. They also are less likely than those made of wood to buckle or chip and it's easier to remove any sticky stuff.
Material
As above, we've mentioned the benefits of wood versus plastic but there are metal mesh style options too. Typically, plastic organizers are molded and are stronger than they're wooden or metal counterparts - there will be no joins that are easy to break and difficult to clean!
The type of material obviously is a personal choice and depends on what look you want to achieve. Materials might be chosen to suit the cabinets that you have in your kitchen or other space, or simply that you want a simple look that isn't too fussy. You will usually find that the manufacturer or seller you buy from will have matching items or different sizes so look around when you research if you want complimentary items.
Whichever you choose, measure carefully and make sure that you know how easy it might be to clean, this can always be a pain if you use the drawer lots and it will attract lots of debris or dust.
Non-Slip
Non-slip options are always a good idea as they will prevent the storage tray from sliding around the drawer space. Some drawer organizers have a non-slip liner at the bottom so that cutlery - if it isn't overstuffed - won't slip around too.
Size
You won't want to overstuff so make sure that you measure properly, and that you allow space between the inside of your drawers and the maximum size of the drawers organizers so that it fits. The amount of times we've seen people wanting to return their drawer dividers or cutlery tray because it's too snug is surprising!
If you have very narrow drawers or simply want trays for certain items at one side of a drawer then individual trays, such as the Backerysupply clear drawer organizers we featured on our review list. They come in different sizes so that you can configure a tricky space yourself.
Other Factors to Consider With Kitchen Drawer Organizer
In summary, we would say that an organizer is a versatile piece of equipment and can be used anywhere in the home like the bedroom for separating underwear or small clothing items; the dining area where you can store your pizza cutters, measuring spoons, or knife sharpener; a kids bedroom where they can organize their school stationery; or the office where handy bits you need close can be stored neatly.
With a new organizer, you can get your storage ship-shape in a matter of minutes. Just remember:
- Clear out your current drawer
- Sort through utensils or items
- Dispose of anything you don't want, store things you want to keep elsewhere
- Clean the drawer out and line it if you want to
- Sort your things into neat groups
- Add your organizer, pop in your newly sorted stuff
- Voila! Things are handy, easy to find, and looking neat and tidy
