Are adjustable beds good for seniors?
Reclining and adjustable beds are popular amongst the elderly, for both sleeping or reclining to watch TV or read. Adjustable beds also allow people with mobility issues to change positions more easily. This improves blood flow and can alleviate pain more quickly than lying or sitting in one fixed position, particularly amongst those who are bedridden. An adjustable mattress is also recommended to compliment the bed.
Adjustable beds may also be easier to get in and out of for the elderly if they have mobility challenges. They can sit up in bed and use the adjustable features to gradually lower themselves to a horizontal position. Similarly, they can move from lying to sitting by adjusting the bed, so they don’t have to haul themselves up.
