Workspace of the Week: Creative corner office

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Eduardo’s home office:

Most of us think of big wig executives in tall corporate buildings when we read the phrase “corner office,” but this week’s selection has a different take on the term. Eduardo utilizes a corner of a small space to get maximum workspace out of his desk. Even the shelves above the desk take advantage of the corner. I really like the printer being up off the desk on the shelf, and the cable running down the behind the shelf. Thank you, Eduardo, for sharing your inspiring setup with us.

Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.

OK…I AM an organizer but my home office is not quite this neat. I’m inspired, though! This weekend…the desk gets DONE! Thanks for the great post.

Oh dear. I suddenly feel depressed 😉 But hopeful. Those shelves might be just the needed thing.

I had cleaned my office up a couple of months ago and now it is in shambles again (I share with the whole family!) I am inspired to clean it up again!

I think the corner shelves are wonderful, but what I really love in all of the offices that are featured is the personal touches intermingled with papers and equipment. Having a home office gives us great license to make our work space a happy place to be.

Oh, how I long to hammer a nail into a wall and hang something! Love where I live, but I’m renting and the one rule the landlord has is no hanging stuff on the walls . . . I lean, stack and pile, whatever I can think of to create some sort of texture – but I confess from time to time I really itch to put my hammer to good use.

What type of desk is this. I haven’t been able to find a corner desk which is stylish and has such a reasonable footprint.

I second what Ken said. Where are the desk and shelves from? Gorgeous! thank you for sharing.

I second the request on who or how the corner shelves were made and hung! It would work way better than the two adjacent rectangular shelving that I have. No slotted beams to see either! =)

    Lovely, just lovely.

I couldn’t have a corner desk at home. It’s too much like my desk at work (a good old Herman Miller office cube). I like my home desk straight and not shoved into a corner.

Does anyone know where you could buy these shelves? I did a search, but couldn’t find anything like them. I like the way they curve — I could make good use of these over my corner desk in my tiny office.

How did you get the lighting to look like that? What lighting did you use and how did you position it?
