Gypsie, it's not a question of converting formats. I would have to crack the DRM to be able to read the files. Without the crack, the files show up as a jumble of letters and numbers. They're encrypted.

lottie, I have a Nook (with an 8 GB microSD card -- yay for Costco coupons!), and I love it. I've rooted mine and done a bit of tinkering, but that's hardly required.

I had the same problem with my Sony. It turned out that the USB cable didn't work. Did you try changing the cable?
