Ha, I had to go google bamix... Mine sort of wanders around. Right now it's living on the counter in my pantry with the blender, food processor and bread machine, but it doesn't stand up well. I need to find a permanent home for it. But yay for an empty basket. Nothing out today, but I managed to revive DH's tiny MP3 player which has a book on it that he's partway through. And I decluttered some frozen broccolim (from our last summer's garden) and other ingredients into a veg casserole for a potluck, and the dish came back empty! :)

One large paper grocery bag and 1 medium box full of cassette tapes that I haven't listened to in over 10 years. I have other means of music and won't miss these at all!

I was cleaning out the crumb tray and inside of the toaster and found a melted inkpen in one of the slots! threw it away.

yikes, irishbell! A science experiment in the making....?

our kitchen and family room are separated by a half wall with a wooden ledge. on one side is a kitchen counter where the toaster and breadbox sit, the other side of the wall has the computer at one end. pens and paper tend to get put temporarily on this ledge...hence the rolling off of the pen into the toaster.i'm surprised more things haven't been dropped into the firey slots!

irishbell, that's hysterical. A convenient way to declutter.

my useless thing of the week: a small binder for saving wine labels.

chacha, I'm curious, did you ever collect the labels or just have an empty binder? Wine labels in the late 70's were glued to hardboard, varnished and backed with felt to make coasters, the creative days of my student life

My nominee for Useless Thing of the Month is a partially-carved basswood sculpture that I started over 5 years ago. It was supposed to be a pair of dragons designed to sit on top of a wooden dowel, but when I binned it yesterday it looked more like a twisty beige glob with a hole drilled through the middle. Too light to be a paperweight; not nearly interesting enough to be an abstract sculpture; and splintery around the edges.

a weird ceramic dancer from Spain that is actually a whistle. Was gifted to me and I am afraid I looked at it rather blankly until courtesy kicked in and I accepted. Found it hidden behind books in the bookcase; off to the bin it went.

DH decluttered all of the tiny notes and expired membership cards from his wallet. I got rid of the toys we had tucked away for visiting children. Most of them have grown too old for them.

A revolting cheese board. I mean revolving. A plate suffices and can go in the dishie :)

I find little plastic bits everywhere. It's a side effect of having a kid, I guess; people give him all sorts of plastic crap and then it breaks and I have to think "what is this?"

A batch of expired coupons. I remember one episode of Hoarders where the woman insisted on keeping all her expired coupons because "some stores will still take them" and the camera panned to show the look on her poor husband's face as he realized the depth of her problem. *shudder*
