Anyone up to decluttering some fat?
I'm starting this Saturday.
Way ahead of you -- started 6 1/2 weeks ago.
I'm with you, started in January... 15 pounds decluttered! More to go...
have been working on fitness and weight--some centimetres gone but not much weight yet--but was down one kilo this morning!
I am so in. I've been slowly changing eating habits for a couple of months, but need to bite the bullet and reduce portion sizes down to a weight-loss calorie level. :( Got 12 kilos to lose.
I'll start Saturday too!
I've been working at it since mid-January, but I welcome any and all motivation that I can get.
I'm in. I've lost 13 lbs since last Sept., doing nothing more than an Aikido class a couple times a week and walking the newer, younger, more bouncy dog daily. Well, and I added salads to my daily meal.
I'm wanting to shed more 'waistline clutter' now, and ready to make more changes in daily routine and foods. SparkPeople, Unite!
I'm starting this morning by not adding any salt to my weekly business meeting breakfast.
I'm in. Exercising more regularly. Already working on eating better- adding more veggies, subtracting sugary junk. Replacing coffee with green tea for the past week so I can develop that habit and make coffee my weekend treat. Feeling the extra energy already!
I'm in too! Been losing the same 15lb for 3 years now.
Winter makes it hard for me to shed any weight, since when it's cold I'm constantly hungry (that, and I don't really want to walk anywhere); but it's getting warmer (-7C today, and -2C tomorrow!... that is warm for mid-February in Ottawa, and I'm fully aware of how sad that is) and I no longer feel the urge to build up winter fat, so proper eating habits can resume.
Also need to incorporate some weight training into my workouts. The problem is that cardio classes are fun, but weight training not as much (for me). Hoping that putting together a good playlist will help distract me.
I am in!! I've lost 10 lbs and need all the help I can get to lose more. I've eliminated sugar and dairy (allergic)and limit my meat to chicken and fish a few times a week. My goal is to improve my health and eat healthy forever.
I'm in as well. I've been losing slowly for the last year, but managed to lose 5 pounds during my month in Hawaii! Must have been all that fresh fruit. :) I have lots more to go, but support is always welcome.
I'm in. I've been trying SparkPeople, but find it way too time-consuming, and all the ads for processed "diet" foods and pharmaceuticals creep me out. I'm not good at dieting, but I don't eat all that crappily anyway, so I'm just focusing on watching portion sizes, eating more veggies, and replacing some of my carbs with more protein. That and getting my butt out of my chair more than a couple of times a week.
I'm in! I'm in! Just started going to the gym yesterday and have begun revamping my diet. My gym (at which my husband is a regular and I, well, am not) is having a weight loss challenge that goes through May, so I signed up and got on the treadmill for the first time in months. I'm going to become a gym regular if it kills me!
Count me in, too. I eat healthfully, but am still prone to late-night binge eating under extreme stress, which ruins my sleep, and then the two add up to extra pounds real fast. Did you know that poor sleep causes weight gain, whether you're overeating or not? Yikes. I started getting a grip on better sleep this week. Now I'm going offline and out for a long walk, and that will help me sleep better tonight. Thanks for the inspiration of this thread, needtocleanhouse.
Is everyone who is working out just sounding off or is there going to be an actual "challenge?"
Hey Fat Stupid American - you are challenged!
@needtocleanhouse
/me begins stare down
Bring it OOOOOON!
How about making the challenge similar to "A Thing A Day"? Post every day on what you did that day with regard to exercise and eating healthy. That way we can get great ideas from everyone, and also support each other when we have a bad day and eat a giant cheeseburger. I find the combination of accountability and accolades on this forum to be incredibly motivating.
@happymonkey
Meh. The thing a day thread is to long and a huge Cluster f--- of a thread.
There needs to be a TL:DR version.
Great Idea (not idea but Idea)!!! I'm SO in! I'm not going to reveal how much I need to lose but I'll be in anyway.
My project started today, since I finally have a bike (bought it yesterday, used it for a few km, biked about 10 km today to and from school and my behind is very sore now) instead of using the public transportation (two transfers, takes double the time, doesn't up the pulse).
I'm all in favour of happymonkey's suggestion, so those who wish to participate in a HC can simply add to this thread (HC for health challenge?; thought it'd cover more than just the fat - water balance, sodium balance, weight, exercise, sleep, stress).
P.S. Thanks for talking about losing weight, not 'loosing' weight. I feel like groaning every time someone looses weight.
P.S.2 I went bananas with the tagging.
