Coincidence would have it that i came upon two fascinating RSA animated video-talks, one of them has to do with choices. I think you will see why i believe this has something to do with this forum: ( it is about 10 minutes long)

a good sales person know to listen well to the customer, then present two or max three options to choose from :) on the other hand, the amount of areas to choose from in a messy home can become the huge hindrance we all dread, which is why ATAD is so powerful.

Yes! Decisionmaking is work, and sometimes it's so much work it doesn't get done.
I think that's why having a system, ANY system, can be so helpful. I like the Messies Manual one I've mentioned before, but Flylady can be really good too. And I have a friend who didn't like any system, because they all made her feel overwhelmed, but deciding what to do next made her so stressed out nothing got done. She started rolling dice, with one number assigned to each part of her house, rather than having to prioritize or make decisions - it all needs done, after all.
(other "systems" I've used for chores that had no chance of ever being completely done: picking strips of paper out of a bowl (we did this for Christmas decorating/baking this year), spinning a game spinner (for kids chores, to avoid arguing about fairness), automated queues (for work tickets), arbitrary largest-first or oldest-first)
