@ninakk - re the overheating laptop, it might be worth getting a service guy to take it apart and clean out the accumulated rubbish inside. My black macbook recently started making a hideous noise because the fan bearings had burnt out - the machine dates from 2007 and apparently was full of dust and cat hair, causing the fan to work harder than it should. Over time the bearings gave up the ghost. I took it in to a local independent service centre and for a very reasonable cost they took it apart, cleaned out the rubbish and installed a new fan (with integral heatsink) and it's now very much quieter and a lot cooler...
While they had its brain in pieces I got them to put extra memory in it as well, and it's given the little black macbook a new lease of life - which saves me the expense and hassle of buying a new macbook pro 13" and having to transfer everything across. Little known fact: the official maximum memory on certain macbooks of 2GB is not the actual max which can be installed - you can put 4GB in it but the system can only use 3, or in some cases 3.3. But that's still better than having to buy a new system...
