i'll second the vitamix.
i never had a blender, apart from a stick blender, and then i thought i'd buy a vitamix.
i use it every single day and it lives on the counter.
it is easy to clean: half fill with hot soapy water, then switch it on high for half a minute. voila!
i have perfected the smoothie and cram in ridiculous amounts of nutrition.....really, one of those things keeps us going half the day.
the vitamix pulverises things like passionfruit seeds and orange peels, so everything goes in there.
and soup has never been so velvety and good.
rozzie, i agree....not every meal has to be a huge production. rice and vegies are a meal on their own. cold and raw food is perfectly acceptable food and can be delicious. and why not have a salad for breakfast if you feel like one?
