I have a number of tote bags that are hanging on a hook in my walk-in closet on the wall. Since there are several on a hook, they look cluttered and are blocking the closet. How can I organize these so they look neat and orderly?

Can you put some bags inside others, or all of one size into the next larger size?
You could flatten them out, roll them up and stick inside another bag.Posted 1 year ago # -
Multiple big S hooks, hanging down off of one another, one bag per hook? They would be less bulky if they weren't all wedged together.
Or rolled up inside one of those shoe organizers that velcros around the closet rod?

first you need to think about how many you actually need.
i have three.
one heavy duty cloth one and two heavy duty big grocery bags.
they just sit in a basket in the kitchen near the door, so i can grab them when i go out.i would prune first and then consider storage options.

At the charity shop where I volunteer, we hang up handbags using hangers that work like those keyring clips (like this: http://www.usbcompany.co.uk/product-images/61_Dog%20Clip%20Keyring%20USB%20Company.jpg ). They go round the handle and round the rail. Something like that maybe?

For bags I use less often, I fold them up in a basket and put them on a shelf in my closet. For ones I use every day, I bought a hanging sweater organizer that hangs over the closet rod, and I put a couple of bags in each section. I use this for larger bags (such as my computer totes that I take to work) but a shoe organizer might work well for smaller bags that can be folded up.

The container store also had a useful item that hangs on the back of a door - it's a long strap that clips to the top and bottom of the door, and has moveable clips along the length of the strap that hold bags or purses. I use one of those in my office, but I can't find it on their web site - it may only be in their stores. (In the closet / garage section.) It's a good way to keep bags out of the way but still easily accessible - I use it for various computer bags that I use for work.

i gave away most of my store bought reusable grocery bags.
they were always where i didn't need them.I bought 2 sets of these over the last 2 years

and they are WORTH EVERY PENNY.
they roll up like a pair of socks
and i always have some in my purse when i go into the store.
if i forget to bring it in, i carry my purchase outside and put it in the bag in the car.i still have canvas book-totes hanging on door knobs but they are for items that are GOING somewhere. library books, borrowed items, donations.
when i go out the door the bag goes with me.Posted 1 year ago # -
A shoe organizer is great. I use mine for cosmetic bags I use for travel, lint roller(perfect to store in closet when you need it most), umbrellas, my 2bl weights, and even my paper shredder(just the machine itself not the garbage pail) Oh and 3pr shoes.
