This site and the forums are great! I love seeing all the mentions of people donating (when possible) what has become clutter to them but may work for someone else. At Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in Gaithersburg we definitely benefit when an organizer (professional or individual) recycles as they declutter. Most people probably don't think too much after they donate an item what happens to it (or maybe they do?) But we see things get new homes all the time and it's great! I'll keep looking for more organizing/declutter ideas here.

Welcome, ReStore! Friends of mine started the first store here in San Antonio (there are three now) and they are wonderful resources, both for donating and buying home improvement items -- we've used it both ways.

Thank you! I'd love to hear more about materials for home improvement projects you've found at your local ReStore.

I haven't done anything myself, but every general contractor, plumber, roofer etc I chat with gets info about the store. A friend of mine is re-doing her bathroom, and I've already given her plumber the address and hours of our ReStore.
When I'm in the neighborhood, I'll roam through and see what they've got. This store takes furniture, and I'm looking for an end table I can refurbish.
