I love de-cluttering (sometimes more than others!) -- not just for the way it helps me feel more peaceful, lighter, and happier -- but because it can also bring joy to others.
Yesterday I was reading some of your posts about de-cluttering the closet and I actually got up and immediately cleaned out 3 bags of clothes and shoes . One bag was for the thrift shop at my church, the other for my sister to look through (stuff I thought she might be interested in) and the third for my mom. My mom actually came to visit last night and not only did she love/want most of what I'd pulled for her, but she wore one of the shirts all night long and told me that another was exactly what she'd been trying to find for our upcoming vacation to a cooler climate.
Talk about instant gratification.
I never felt so good about getting rid of things! My closet is cleaner and some of the items that were (literally) gathering dust now have a happy home with someone who wants and will enjoy them.
When I start feeling angst about getting rid of stuff (you know what I mean!) I will remember that some of the things that don't get love at my house could be JUST what someone else is looking for.
Makes the de-cluttering process a whole lot easier.
