One of my cousins spent a year or so as a teacher in South Korea (in the mid-80's). She met her husband there (he was stationed in South Korea). They decided to come back to the US. I think it was because his tour of duty was finished and he did not want to sign up for more.

Hi, yes, I'm fine! :) Thank you for asking. I'm a terrible blogger, apparently. But I'm doing well.
I'm in Tokyo, over 200 miles from the worst of the damage. We felt the shakes pretty roughly here and continue to feel aftershocks even now, but the damage in my area is minimal to non-existant.
I immediately thought of you, too! Great to hear you are okay. My friend and her husband who live in Tokyo have just booked a flight out this morning, right after the news of the nuclear fusion hit the internet newspapers... Mrs Mack, please take care of yourselves, I wish you all the best! What a terrible catastrophy. My heart goes out to everyone living in the Tsunami/earth quake area and around Fukushima.
