Just viewed the newest trailer for a move called "Everything Must Go". Seems like it'd be okay. It got me thinking about other movies that qualify as "decluttering" films philosophically. "eat, Pray, Love" would probably make the list.
Any others?

The first one that comes to mind is tthat movie called The Professional, about a hitman who had a barebones apartment with only one meager plant for a decoration....apparently in that line of work you don' t need much, except your weapons...
WALL-E!!!!!
Not a DE-cluttering movie... but "Unstrung Heroes" is marvelous and gives a compassionate view into the cluttered life of two hoarding uncles. Directed by Diane Keaton, with Andie MacDowell and John Turturro.
The Iron Giant
Love Wall-E!
I totally forgot Wall-E. Perfect! I will look up the Unstrung Heroes movie--never heard of that one. Thanks!
confessions of a shopaholic!
i watched the girl with the dragon tattoo and the girl who played with fire last night.
in the second one, lisbeth buys an enormous apartment and goes shopping at IKEA to furnish it.
there are a few shots of her putting furniture together and then scenes in the apartment.
it is sparse and clean, but untidy.
i liked the minimalist furniture and the feeling of space in that big apartment.
( and it's a gripping story).
I can't think of a specific title (bit fuzzy headed thismorning) but what about some disaster movies... they usually have a message that it's about people and relationships, not things - sometimes people might cling to a symbolic object, but often they are left with very little. In The Day After Tomorrow they are burning books to stay alive.
I always wanted a recliner chair, but after seeing Wall-E, anytime I sit in a recliner I see myself as one of those floating blob-people!
LOL, klutzgrrl! :)
@Claycat - The Iron Giant is one of my favorite movies!
For some reason Under the Tuscan Sun comes to mind. More about decluttering your life than your home.
