Not so much related to the topic but to an earlier comment about minimalists getting others to store their crap for them...My mum is always telling me my house is too small, too messy, too cluttered and doesn't have enough storage space. And my dining room was a particular problem for her, as dh used to dump lots of stuff there. Then she went home to Australia and left in my dining room-a set of golf clubs for me to store for her till her next visit. Honestly!
Then this trip she packed very light and turned up and wanted to borrow all sorts of clothes from me and dh for her and my dad to wear. This time I had really uncluttered my wardrobe so I said truthfully that I didn't have a thing to lend her, she wasn't very happy though I was pleased for dh to lose a few items of clothing. She also borrowed sheets, towels, lots of things which usually don't come back and which she borrows every few years when they visit. And they stay for months, so it's not exactly like you wouldn't need any spares over this time. AND despite my house looking a billion times better than ever before since my uncluttering began last year, not a single nice comment to that effect. In fact, I think she's quite disappointed that she has nothing negative to say about my
house...She probably considers herself a bit of a minimalist though :)
