I will qualify this by saying I do work - shift work; I have 2 small boys, the youngest starting school in 4 weeks; I dont have any holidays coming up so can't cheat; and I have a 3200 sq foot house without a cleaner. So it's all up to me (and a little help from the husband).
We spent New Year's Day together doing the home office/study. A little bit of tweeking needed by my husband but mostly finished. really wish I'd bought the cable keeper thingy at Ikea when I saw it on Thursday, but since it is a 2 hour drive each way, it will have to wait till next time. We have empty shelves in our bookcases thanks to me throwing out hundreds of old magazines (they were nicely stored in white (Ikea) holders). An Expedit 2x4 resting on its side is now the holder for the printers, Wifi modem, answer phone and in tray, all behind the desk. Files got culled and shredded and other paperwork got files. We got pizza for tea as we were both too tires to cook.
Today's task, a week early, is the laundry. It's not too bad, needs a system more than anything. I took some before pics.

It has no folding shelf though, and ironing in there is a little tight, so things tend to migrate to the family room, where they are right now. I'm thinking a folddown shelf/table in the corner above the baskets would work. Floor space is a premium so wall mounted stuff is great in there. There is already a wall mounted clothes line, the dryer is wall mounted, even my iron holder is! The shelf may have to go on the list for the next Ikea trip though.
Okay off to tackle it now.
