Ok lately it's rare that I can make that statement since I've been chronically ills and every day is a new adventure (fun and not fun). Anyways, my sister and her boyfriend are helping us put in new floors and paint. In order for them to do that we have to move everything around. What a perfect opportunity to get rid of extra stuff. It has been a lot of hard work but it's very exciting to see things go. I'm going to sell a few things on E-bay and Etsy.com but most of it is being donated to Good Will or the library. I have tons of books and videos. They told me they will use them or sell them and I can use the tax deduction. I know I can sell books at amazon (I've sold other stuff there), but when you have so much stuff it's overwhelming, it's important to just get it out of our space (house and garage). I keep on trying to remind myself that I only want what I need and care about and that the rest needs to go. All of us, my husband, daughter and I are purging. The bad thing is that dealing with tons of old stuff is causing dust and dirt to go everywhere (plus having the carpets removed). It is starting to look great and still more needs to be done. I'm just looking forward to when I show off the house at my mom's 80th birthday in June. Katharine

Congratulations on your decluttering successes! You're right, sometimes it really is best to just get the stuff out of your home. I spend a lot of time trying to sell certain items and then I get frustrated because I want them gone quicker!
Keep us updated on your journey! We are all here to support you along the way :o)

Good for you! You are a brave lady taking on such a task when you haven't been well. It Sounds like you have the right attitude and are using that to your advantage. Letting go is usually the hardest part but you seem to have that under control. Keep up the good work. Your house is going to look fantastic when you are done.

your home is going to be lovely!
i have often thought about selling stuff...but then the thought of the effort it entails just flattens me, lol!
for me, it is simpler and easier to just donate stuff or ask friends/family if they would like items.
if you give it away, you are achieving your primary goal of getting it out of your house! you win!i wish someone would come over here and paint our place!
