Unused items are clutter. After going through my jewelry drawer, I'm looking for ideas or tips on setting up an office jewelry swap. Women in the office could bring their unwanted costume jewelry and swap for somebody else's items. We have a nice big conference room with plenty of tables. I'm imagining this would be a one-day event. Questions: should we issue a ticket for each item someone brings- the more you bring, the more you can take home? Thanks in advance!

Hmmm, we did a similar thing at one office I worked at. All the women were at a one day sort of retreat which was mostly fun stuff but a lot directed at team building. Anyway, we decided to have a clothing/jewelry exchange. We laid it all out by person (separate places for clothes and jewelry, as clothes might need to be tried on). We put no restrictions on how much anyone took, since decluttering was the idea! If you didn't see anything you wanted, great. I still have one pair of earrings I got from that - still love them! At the end of the day we had the option of leaving stuff and it got donated to a women's shelter for their program of gettng women into the work force.

I remember reading an article about a clothing swap - I think it was from real simple. They used tags or clothes pins. For each item you bring, you get an equal number of tags. All things are laid out, every one puts their tags on the items they would like. Items with multiple tags then went through a coin toss/card draw process to determine who would get those.
