@djk - That is interesting about teachers changing classes instead of students in Europe. I totally get what you mean about being more focused while standing. For whatever reason my brain just works better if I can stand up and pace around my office a bit.

teachers running: not everywhere in europe; depends on the grade too.
my ideal would be to have computer cables arranged for two heights and that electronically moved desk; they are all over the place here. cost and space are holding me back right now. i would combine it with a saddle chair (backless) which would slide underneath the desk when not in use; also expensive but very comfortable and excellent for posture since one sits with spread legs and straight back- like on a saddle.

I needed both a standing desk and a kitchen sideboard ..so i bought an Ikea Wall-Mounted Drop-Leaf Folding Table, which worked perfectly. I did have to add some shelving which i got from the Salvation Army thrift store. but i am completely happy with it.
