i'm a huge fan of mineral make up too!
a swipe of that, some lipstick....i'm out the door.
i LOVE how it packs into a tiny bag for travelling.....i had a couple of empty sample sized pots and i fill those and hit the road for up to six weeks.
i buy handmade mineral make up from smaller companies:
http://www.laminerals.com/
and
http://www.etsy.com/shop/MixologyMakeup ....mixology wins a lot of awards and the price are sweet.

For those of you who have had problems with buying makeup, then it not being the right color, or you just don't like it after actually putting it on - If there is an Ulta store near you, check them out! They have a 60 day money back guarantee, so if you get it home, put it on, and don't like it, they will refund your money. Wonderful service! And they have samples you can try in the store. It's my new favorite place to buy makeup!

@bandicoot - thanks for the link - mixology looks terrific! Now I just hope I can find my color. I know my Bare Minerals color (medium beige), do they help match?
Which brings up a pet peeve of mine re makeup: why must every makeup brand call their shades something different? I remember one that had cocoa, cream, light coffee, etc. as their colors. For those of us who fall between the fair and dark shades, the different names just offer way too much confusion. There should be an industry standard on color matching, considering the wide range of skin tones! /rant off :)

@angelicious --yeah! A lot of hair colors have standardized the levels, so a Level 5 in one is the same darkness as a Level 5 in another. On a scale of 1-5, for foundations meant for white people, I am a 2. Then tell me what the undertone is--warm, neutral, cool, etc. If you have refinements on that, again use normal names--red, gold, olive?
I guess I got confused back in the 80s when J Crew started it all (did they?) with colors like Tuscan and Heaven. I guess Heaven would be a light blue, but is Tuscan beige, yellow, what?....I'd have to count down the names in the photo to make sure.Several makeup companies like to get cute (Urban Decay!) or celebrity--ish (which Kate is the lipstick named after and is it a sheer pink, a rusty orange....)

This is such a girly discussion. :-) I used to covet those multi-color makeup palettes! ... I swap out my makeup roughly three times a year; I rely on liquid eyeliners, a swipe of eyebrow pencil, and mascara ... and am a little germ-phobic. The whole collection fits in a glass in the medicine cabinet. Easy and neat!
BUT I'm a ballroom dancer and I do like the false lashes for shows, competitions, etc., so I have a few sets squirreled away; and with those go two loose-powder shadows, a creme shadow, lipstick and lip-liner, matte primer, foundation, bronzer, loose powder, etc. It's nice to have that secret life of glamour in its own little box, so to speak, and not cluttering up my daily life.
