Found another pile of old papers to declutter/shred/recycle. I found an envelope with my Husband's name on it, and one with my name - both envelopes had £25 inside.
Woohoo!

Woohoo!! That's so fun!!
A couple weeks ago I was cleaning out one of my old purses and found $100 in it. I am angry at myself for forgetting about such a large sum, but YEAH I had more than I thought!
If you like finding money, I recommend checking out your state's government website for the Unclaimed Property section.
Unclaimed property is money that belongs to you that is being held by the state. From my state's website, unclaimed money can come from old bank accounts, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc. I think it includes things like uncashed paychecks, too, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, the service is free on behalf of the Department of Revenue. I've gotten $38, my MIL about $280. Talk about finding old cash in your pockets! lol.
I have a winter savings program.
Every fall, I get out a coat I haven't worn in months, and every fall at least one has some money in it. Okay, that's not really free money but it kind of feels like it. Last fall, I found $10 and went out to lunch.
