I have been reading through this thread. My parents recently had to leave their home at short notice - and that house was stuffed to the rafters. This forced my mother and sister to give away some stuff but they left a lot behind. However, the packratting is starting again in the new place. I visited and did a small piece of tidying - and had to make sure anything I suggested recycling was okayed - minly meus they had 4 of, or old envelopes. Grrrr.
Anyways, I was thinking as I saw what was recovered from the old house - what items worried me as an inheritence. There was nothing of value, and I realised that I wanted certain old family photos, as I am the family historian, an old clock that was my grandfathers, a 1940s recipe book, and a teapot. My mother left her rings behind. This topic came up as part of the conversation by the way - I wasn't grave watching.
Was there anything you would like to inherit, eventually - that wouldn't be clutter to you, possibly as in our new decluttered homes (one day!) we'd ideally have the appropriate space for it?
