I've just been reading this post. It's quite timely, as the change in weather means it's time to start thinking about making way for the next seasons clothes. For me we're going into fall/winter so it will be out with the summer stuff and in with the winter and a chance to figure out what I actually need. I went shopping yesterday and very nearly bought yet another pair of pants just like two pairs I already own. What sense is there in that?
As for the closet/drawers thing, I use mostly a closet but use the dresser for underwear, socks, tshirts, gym gear and tops that don't wrinkle when folded. All sweaters/jumpers get folded up on shelves in closet along with jeans. All shirts, skirts, good pants are hung up. Shoes are in the bottom of the closet, plus I admit the odd pair under the bed.
The problem is that every year the pile of jumpers, jeans in the closet gets bigger and bigger, and the piles get all jumbled up, and every year I sort through it. Guess that's what I'll be doing over Easter!
The other problem is that I have one of those dressers with a very big draw at the top. I presume it is designed for socks and underwear, but mine holds papers and other stuff with no home. I'm going to tackle that one over Easter, and sort this drawer out so that it can be used for it's intended purpose.
