since we have a fairly small home the guest room doubles as the grandkids room/retreat when they visit once or twice weekly. they each have a bin in the bottom of the closet for their toys and a lidded basket on the bookcase for their personal items. the closet except for the toy bins, extra pillows, blankets and photo albums on the closet shelf is empty ready for guest clothes. granddaughter loves to accumulate, but grandson is just like his dad and grandmother (me)-recently told me his bulky train was no longer wanted. (ulterior motive-make room for new "more grown up stuff".) they know they have to have it spotless before they leave. their mom and dad marvel they can clean up so well.
