@kbfenner @claycat - the closet in the hallway is super deep and narrow, so we can't get much going on in there other than what already exists. There is also not much room in our bedroom - so its either wardrobe or dressers, not both. And no room in the kitchen either! Such is the life in NYC :)
But we are happy though, this is the biggest apartment measured in sq feet per person that either of us has ever lived in - we both grew up right here in NYC. Our current apartment is 860 sq feet, while the last one was under 300!
I think that while thinking through this problem I realized that I will not have the gigantic closet of my dreams in the foreseeable future. That is what you give up when you refuse to move to the suburbs! So I think I'm going to put my focus into saving for a nice dresser (Sherwood ten drawer chest in maple from Room and Board) - to replace our three year old $60 Ikea pulpwood masterpieces :)
I have to remember that sometimes, what you have is great and there is just not anything to improve! Thanks for all the advice though :)
