I didn't buy anything myself, but I did accept a belated birthday gift (so, don't know if that counts). I do support Buy Nothing Day though, and usually I participate. In my town Occupy group, I volunteered to write a perspective piece about buying from local, independent businesses over the holiday season, something that we were endorsing as a group. It ran today in a local paper, so that was cool!
I am really against the extreme hours that already-underpaid and without-benefits retail workers have to do around Black Friday. People are going home at 9pm and having to be back at work at midnight, and it's usually not a day you can even ask to take off. So that was yet another reason I wasn't at Walmart come midnight.
