and we are off to a racing start!
let's keep some of that fabulous january momentum going.

Well, maybe not racing, since it's been 7 hours since you posted ;-)
Then again, it's just 12:35 here, so the delay may be primarily due to time zone differences!
This week has been a roller coaster emotionally - details on the chat thread. My attention is not fully on de-cluttering and yet I really want to keep going as it gives me the sense that there is forward progress still happening even if it doesn't look like it.
So went back to the crammed shelf from last night and finished initial sort of the 2nd half of the stuff. Several inches of paper hit the recycling bin - extracts from the writings of Tyndale, Wycliff, Luther, etc. Two smallish binders in the donation box. Initial sort of crammed shelf - done!
I feel the need to accomplish more so going to look around and may just post again if I find something else that can go.
Outs:
Empty boxes and bottles to recycling
Bags, stickers to donate
And since I only have 24 days to exams, I'll be uncluttering myself from the forums (nd the internet generally) until next month.
See you all in the March thread!
All right, found a few more things:
Some coin roller tubes - kept a few of each, but would take me a decade to go through full bags of each denomination. To donation.
Four crafting magazines from the 90's, minus a couple of articles, but really, just a couple. To recycling.
One UFO (unfinished object). A barely started cross stitch in an embroidery hoop, on linen cloth rather than cross stitch fabric, which someone gave me "in case you wanted to finish it up." Do you know, I seem to generate quite enough unfinished projects of my own, without needing to take on anyone else's!?!?! And I have no desire *at all* to do cross stitch on linen. Out to donation, threads and all.
Cross stitch pattern of a maple leaf with image of John A. MacDonald's face embedded in it. Bought not realizing that it was anything but a beautifully shaded maple leaf, and kept for 10 years wondering if I could mess it up enough to make it just that - I'm just not political enough to desire a cross stitch with a politician's face in it, even if he is one of our "founding fathers." To the designated box in my crafting area for possible swap material.
@sash, good luck on your exams!
@sash, indeed, good luck on the exams and if you're not adding to the challenge threads then maybe at least stop by to say hi!? Anyway, see you in March at the latest :)
@PJ, haha, that's a good one. I never heard of the expression "founding fathers" before marrying the American hubby of mine. Last time it popped up was on South Park :D
2 bags toddler boy clothes and some neoprene knee supports I used to use for running, about 9 years ago
Ps when bandicoot started the thread it was still January in Europe
Day fourteen for me, but the goal at present is to get at least one thing out of the house every day in February. I gifted another cook book today, recycled another 2 inches of paper, and into the rubbish bin with a foam Guinness glass thing - I have no idea were that came from.
Out:
- Bin: Three carpet friction thingies; have become very nasty over the past few years so once I go to Ikea tomorrow I'll pick new ones up. A pair of pants assigned to cleaning purposes (they broke) but after the storm of towels from grandma I really don't need more cleaning gear (possibly for a lifetime...).
- Recycling: misc. paper stuff.
Out 2/1= 15 egg cartons for a lady down the street that sells fresh eggs. She gave me 3 dozen eggs in return for them.
Out: One binder full of articles of a certain topic that one of my friends is interested in. Sigh, one of those JIC's moments again.[nevermind.]
2 Wine Bottles to recycling.
In: (a present)very pretty paper napkins with my collection motif on them. And...yes, after i set aside two, i will use them. :-)
Out:
- Two (... not even exclamation marks anymore) lightbulbs; must have popped during my cleaning frenzy :(
- Flea market pile: some sewing gear from you-know-who
- Recycling: some metal stuff from you-know-who's sewing stash; now I'm almost done sorting through it!
An inch worth of paper recycled or filed. Only a million more inches to go! (or so it seems)
Ninakk, it's too late now I expect, but you can wash those under rug mats and they retain their stickiness.
Scanned and tossed.
Sold again some items on eBay and made really good money. I just shouldn't think of the money I spent on these items some time ago ;-)
Sweater that fit weird.
Hello to all,
I'm so happy to find your forum. I am trying to reduce the amount of "things" in our house so that the home is more easily maintained. I am happy to find like-minded people and thought this thread would be a good place to start. So: out with several pair of socks, a blanket I never liked, and a few toys that have long since been out-grown.
a beer bottle opener. kind of giddy about this as it's been on my unitasker list where i try to find another multi-purpose item in the house to do the same job. couldn't come up with anything until h grabbed our can opener last night and used a hook on the side to open his beer. voila. bottle opener gone, one less untitasker!
also declutter a few gallons of paint... several more to go. this is the project that never ends.
