The 360 degree views on the right are amazing! However, when looking through this all I can think of how horrid it would be to try and dust this place. It'd be a beautiful place to pay to visit and ooh and ah for an hour or so, but as a place to live I vote CLUTTER!
Well, I guess for us it is clutter. It would give me an advanced case of anxiety to contemplate living there. :-) For the guy who lives there, though, it's definitely art. I mean, I didn't look at every view in detail, but it all looks intentional, and "curated," doesn't it?
That's the great thing about decluttering, though ... it is completely individual. Just as everyone's definition of clutter is different, everyone's design sensibility is different, and everyone's notion of beauty is different.
I think of it as a massive collection more than art. I also find it interesting, but I don't think I would last long in any of those rooms.
Oh wow, that is *swallow* um...
What strikes me as bizarre is that reproduction of John Singer Sargent's painting right in the middle of that first room! It's really out of place.
It all gives me sensory overload, so I wouldn't be able to stay in there long. I would start feeling claustrophobic. Plus, the stuff, though decorative, is pretty creepy! Eek!
I'm afraid that although it is incredibly interesting, the only thing I can think about is the dusting nightmare that it HAS to be. It's like when somebody looks at a piece of art and all they can say is "Nice Frame." Is it bad art or is the frame too overpowering? In this case the "frame" is too overpowering. I do, however, appreciate the time and effort that was put into the installation...that's A LOT of work!!! :)
I would walk into that place and have a serious asthma attack after 15 minutes or so.
There was an office supply warehouse in Honolulu (I think it's gone now) that I had to give up visiting; they never dusted anything and every visit made me ill.
