I have so many odd collectible items. Everything from comic books, magazines, sports cards, Marvel comic cards, pogs (remember them) pre-paid phonecards and odd little items like unusual cereal boxes, toys, etc, etc. I have no luck with Ebay and it annoys the heck out me that I pay to list stuff that never sells because there are too many other people looking to sell. It is also too much work. Is there anyone who can help me sell the stuff i have for a share of the proceeds?
PLEASE contact me at catyoga@mindspring.com

Hi Cat Yoga! In my town (upstate NY) we have a few people who form little businesses where they will post/sell stuff on ebay for a percentage of the profits. I had a former student who was doing it for a while, too. Maybe you could look at Craigslist or other local "listings" to find someone like that near you?
I feel your pain -- sometimes I get in a groove and list/sell lots of things -- but right now I have a little pile of stuff I just don't have the energy/motivation to sell. It is a lot of work, you're right!

Thanks for replying. I haven't had much luck with trading on web sites that offer that service. Do this web site have a section where we can trade among ourselves? Donating is not always easy. I still can't find anyone who wants old baseball, football and basketball cards and when you have thousands, it is too much effort to weed out the best players from the rest. I hate the idea of throwing them out. P.S. - This is probably a stupid question BUT, what are TAGS? They ask for tags in the box under this one (seperated by commas) and I have no idea what this refers to?

If you don't necessarily need the money and just want to get rid of the stuff without throwing it away, look at giving some the sports cards, comics and toys to a children's hospital or childcare center. Libraries and teachers have small (if any) budgets and are always looking for prizes to give away.
I too had "collectibles" that seemed to have a flooded market on eBay and felt better giving them to kids who appreciated them for the same reason I did. And if you itemize your taxes, donating may be worth more than the time and hassle of eBay.

Do you have a lot of older sports cards, Cat Yoga? Some of them sell very well on ebay. It depends on what you have. A lot of people are selling them by the lot, too.

Check out http://www.ogamma.com. This company is great! I use them to sell my things. They are the cheapest company I’ve found that are professional. They can help you sell anything on online marketplaces. You can choose for them to list, manage, and sell your items on eBay, Amazon, Craigslist, FrogAds or any website of your choice. In my opinion, it is more professional than “eBay Drop off Center”. The company provides pictures and descriptions for your item if you don’t have any. They do everything and they do a very good job. A lot of my items sell. The best part is that they don’t take any commission once your items are sold, unlike most places.
I hope that helps. Good luck.

CatYoga, I inherited thousands of baseball cards and had thought to sell them on e-bay. The problem is, the collectors want to know the ranking. Ranking is a grading system done by professionals for about $8.00 a card. You have to mail off the card for that. I often go to the Goodwill and see bag after bagload of 1990's cards for sale at $1.99/bag prices. Not worth it to me.
