Hi,
This is my first post and I hope I am not asking something that has already been covered!
I love my Elfa bookshelves. I bought them a few years ago on sale, and still remember how expensive they were. But I love them. Well, I'm moving in a couple of weeks to a new apartment. My current roommate is taking over the lease and interviewing potential people to take my room once I move.
This question came up tonight- will I leave my shelves behind? (No! Love them!) If not, what about the holes left by the top rail? If we were vacating the apartment, that would be the landlord's problem, to be spackled and repainted. But I'm not, and don't wish to leave six gaping screw holes behind me for my roommate to deal with.
So the option came up of leaving just the top rail. The new roommate can purchase his/her own Elfa shelves (expensive), or not. But I am wondering if Rubbermaid's similar shelving system would work- could someone buy everything else by Rubbermaid and use it with the Elfa hanging rail? Or mix and match Rubbermaid shelves and brackets with Elfa rail and standards?
