DH got THREE mugs for Christmas - one from my daughter but it is the shape he likes so it will get used (pure luck, as she hadn't asked) and two from his, in the straight sided shape he doesn't. But as his daughter gave them to him, and they are personalised, they are here for as near to ever as he can manage. He won't use them, so it is hard to accidentally drop them. BUT, he has agreed to weed out the rest of his collection of mugs from steam rallies, as they won't all fit in the cupboard, so that should be a lot more than 3 going out.
He has also agreed to donate the puzzle wine bottle holder his DD gave him LAST year (as soon as I can get the wine out of it), and the naff tractor egg cup which was his b'day present from her.
She gave me a Next gift set, which I shan't open until I can get to try a tester of it; if I don't like it it can go for a raffle prize somewhere. Why can't she just buy for me from the one perfume range I have used for years. Obviously hints the size of house bricks are too subtle for her.
DD2 gave me a hessian type bag with a picture of GD on it, clutter I suppose, but I use a lot of bags carrying my teaching books and the like. DD1 a pretty necklace and earings, and an awful framed photo of my three grown up grandsons. I asked DD2 if she'd had the photo as well, and she said yes. We both hesitated, then offered each other our frame in case the other person wanted a pair. DD1 is a bit of a pack rat, DD2 tidy and organised.
Amomg other good things, DH bought me a new Dremel, but it has to go back. My old one died, but the new one doesn't fit the drill press and other accessories. Perhaps it will focus his mind onto mending the old one. Otherwise, the most uncluttered Christmas for a long time
