Unitasker Wednesday: The CTA Digital Pedestal Stand for iPad with Roll Holder
All Unitasker Wednesday posts are jokes — we don’t want you to buy these items, we want you to laugh at their ridiculousness. Enjoy!
First things first, this week’s unitasker selection is obviously a multi-tasker. (It holds your toilet paper AND your iPad!) And, if there were some sort of strict rules to how we select unitaskers, it likely wouldn’t qualify. But, since our only criteria for picking unitaskers is: “Does it make us laugh?” It, technically, qualifies … because we cannot stop laughing at the CTA Digital Pedestal Stand for iPad with Roll Holder:
It appears we have devolved so greatly as a society that we cannot use the toilet without also using a mobile device. Ew, ew, ew! Just ew! But, also, hahahaha!
Thank you, reader Adele, for sharing this with us and giving us all a good laugh.

BAHAHAHAHAH.
that said…we have a bathroom laptop. both of us have GI issues that cause us to be stuck in there, often for hours every day. one can only read so many magazines and books (and really, that’s equally gross if you think about it).

If it held a roll of paper towels and stood on my counter top I would find it useful as I could read my recipes on my iPad. (maybe!)

Back in October 1999, The Onion [ link, not safe for work ] reported that the new e-toilet would
include real-time urine-streaming, the capacity to add Plug-Ins, and six months free membership in the popular on-line lavatory community eBidet. In addition, it has full multitasking capability, enabling cybers******s to read on-line versions of magazines and newspapers while on the e-toilet.
At the dawn of the computer age, we were promised the “paperless” office. What about the paperless bathroom?

Can this be for real?
On March 1, a follow-on product will be released: The iPad-holder for your toddler’s potty (“iPotty”):

I am floored.

Is this for the toilet or is it an artistic statement about iPads? Tee hee

It doesn’t have this feature, which the iPotty does have:
“Clear touchscreen protector guards against smudges and messy hands”
Were they trying to save money, or did the designer just lack imagination?

They already came up with iPotty, it’s real…

I just saw this product on Anderson Live today, and apparently it is sold out! In order to get one on the set, he had to borrow it. Amazing.
By the way, I am NOT the Adele who sent in this idea. Apparently there is someone else with a beautiful name out there.
