Workspace of the Week: Organized, elegant, and keeping a secret

This week’s Workspace of the Week is SimonaVysinova’s office of surprise:

This is a really great space, organized well. However, this office has an amazing secret — there is a piano hidden in there:

The piano was so unexpected that when I saw it I may have shrieked with joy at decibels that only dogs can hear. It makes me incredibly happy and is such a terrific storage solution. Thank you, SimonaVysinova, for your wonderful submission to our Flickr pool.

Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.

Awesome! My keyboard currently takes up space in our small dining room, this could be a great space saving idea to get it out from there and into our office. Love seeing intelligent solutions to space issues.

This is beautiful in so many ways: appearance is spot on with at least my aesthetics, and the surprise piano is beyond words. WOW!

    Really amazing!
Although calling this a piano is pushing it a bit, IMO, as this is an electronic keyboard.

Nice! My music keyboard isn’t used very much (as I’m a guitarist) but I designed my small office so the keyboard is within easy reach. I’ll have to finish my office and post photos to the flickr pool. Maybe I’ll get chosen someday :)

Ditto – that’s a digital piano. But they’re great, have one sitting in my foyer. Nothing better than plugging in headphones and practicing in private. I would LOVE to have it stored like this (making mental notes and bookmarking for future reference)

    I’m also loving the chair.

    What a beautiful room!

If you don’t have the skills or money for a custom built drawer for your electronic keyboard, I’ve found a garment bag hanging in the spare room/home office closet to be a good way to store mine. It only requires that you have a clear flat surface to put the keyboard on when you want to use it!

This is truly elegant. I wish my home office looked like this. Where can I get that gorgeous chair?!?!

Now if only someone could come up with a creative solution for a 6 foot grand…

This is way too cool!!! We don’t have room in our home for a regular piano and having a pullout keyboard would work just great. It’s been years since I’ve played the piano and would love to get back into it. Something to keep in mind for the future!
