    You might want to caveat linking to the 2008 article on whether the Kindle will save you money now in 2011, since the price of Kindles has dropped significatly since then.

    Their calculations are based on the then price of $359.

    They can now be had for as low as $79.

    I had the exact same thought about a current review of the Kindle. Everyone I know loves theirs. The number of free books that are available daily provide lots of reading material and new books are not more than buying hardbound. Also, if you watch popular series have days when their books are greatly discounted.
