I think the denim drive is over and they are not accepting any more jeans at this time. However, it looks like they might do another one in August http://www.cottonfrombluetogreen.org/

@jw — The drive is still going strong in D.C. Maybe other areas of the country called it off already?? In D.C., Vastu on 14th is a collection site starting next week.

Ah, just looking at their website, it seemed like it was called off nationally. The Gap was just accepting jeans from March 5-14, so I guess maybe a little research is in order to find a drop-off near me.

The “Why you can’t work at work” link was excellent. The first question, in particular, struck a chord. I’ve learned to ignore my phone and not check e-mails constantly, but I can’t stop the guy next to me from shouting over the cube walls because he doesn’t know how to spell something, can’t think of a way to phrase something, or just wants to share an anecdote. I’ve tried ignoring him but if I don’t answer he gets up and walks into my cube. I’ve tried being rude when he asks “Sue, do you have a minute?” but he just won’t stop interrupting me with trivial things.

Support the “jeans to insulation” project! We used this and it’s wonderful. It has to be cut with a table saw, but the installers don’t have to wear masks and are much happier to be working with a safer product. It looks like fat blue dryer lint
