Wall beds that have function and style

The company Bonbon Trading has some wonderful wall beds that are perfect for small spaces or guest rooms. I’m a fan of the Ulisse wall bed unit with desk:

And, I am quite fond of the Poppi Ponte single bed that unfolds to reveal storage in addition to the bed.

When space is limited, wall beds are a great way to to get multiple uses out of the same room. These designs also remind me of the lofted bedrooms by Tumidei.

    Want.

I know it’s not for everyone, but I really love collapsible furniture…

these look really interesting… but it looks like the mattress does not store inside it, so where would you put it?

Looks like it’s available in Europe only? Any state-side suppliers?

I LOVE that first one because you can leave your stuff on the desk!

Coincidentally, I was looking at something last night that while not folding, would be perfect for a room shared by two or more children or a dorm and could be built as a do-it-yourself project:

Ooooo The first one would be perfect in a guest bedroom/office, and the second one would be great in a dorm room!

Some of us have watched too many Three Stooges movies to do anything but laugh at a Murphy bed. :)

Sign me up! I LOVE furniture that disappears when you’re not using it. My first desk was collapsible, which made it easy to put away when we wanted to unfold the futon in my office. Presto chango, a room with an entirely new purpose. Beautiful.

Design*sponge just had a post about the history of the Murphy Bed. Pretty interesting (we’re talking 19th century unclutters!).

Murphy Beds are great to save space. But don’t forget about the Platform Beds. These beds can be built with storage compartments and drawers to store clothes or whatever you want. The beds themselves sleep good too. Platform and Murphy Beds are a great alternative to your regular frame boxspring type beds that do nothing but take up space.

This is really amazing. It looks unbelievable. At first, I can not accept as true my eyes. It seems a magician hypnotized and changed the whole scenario. This is my dream home.
