Workspace of the Week: A shared office

This week’s Workspace of the Week is lud2046′s his and (mostly) hers office:

Since I share an office with my husband, I’m always interested in seeing how other people share their workspaces. I like how the shared equipment is stored in a cabinet on wheels so that it can be adjusted for whomever needs it at the time. The other end of the room provides a third workspace, which would be very convenient if one of the workers needed to take advantage of the full desktop. It’s simple, designed well, and the cable control along the baseboards is nicely executed. Thank you, lud2046, for your submission to our Flickr pool.

Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.

I really love this desk style, but I don’t have the desk style to do it and I can’t imagine spending money to make this style. It looks so neat and organized doesn’t it? (Sigh).

Very nice! I love the comfy reading chair next to the bookcase, and the color on the walls is very pretty.

Very Nice… I’ll have to keep this in mind while I’m house hunting.

I love this! I’ve been trying to get my husband to switch out his roll top desk for something that both of us can share. This is functional, simple, pretty & uncluttered!! Thanks for the idea.

The desk and bookcase were both made by a very talented carpenter after my original design. For me, the best thing about the cabinet unit in the middle, besides holding our printer and paper supplies and dividing the workspaces, is that it hides all the cables behind it.
The two office chairs are from a brazilian furniture shop very similar to Ikea (unfortunately we don’t have Ikea in Brazil).

Love it! I work out of my home & had to finally make my own 7′ long desk just to have room for 2 wicker baskets full of cats. It was that, or continue to have them draped across the keyboard, my lap, shoulders, the monitor…. Office & furniture design people never seem to take things like this into consideration !

That chair looks really comfy and I too love the bookcase (I feel one can never have enough books) and color choice on the wall.
