Workspace of the Week: Crafts contained

This week’s Workspace of the Week is SuperShopperToo’s home crafting office:

This week’s workspace isn’t necessarily uncluttered, but — wow! — it is organized. You can see additional images in the Flickr group that show more traditional office supply storage, the bookshelves and cupboards behind the desk, another view of the room, and an impressive interior view of the closet. Notes about the images explain that the vast majority of furniture in the office is from Ikea. The ribbon rod in the closet was even a $1.49 find at Ikea, originally manufactured to be used as a shower curtain rod. Items are grouped with like items, and everything has a place to live. Even if this isn’t your style, there are a lot of great organizing solutions in this office that could be repurposed for a more traditional office space. Thank you, SuperShopperToo, for your submission to our Flickr group.

Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.

I was drooling over the picture on this blog. Then I went to the flickr pool and saw the closet. Now I am hyperventilating!

It “isn’t necessarily uncluttered”? I would kindly disagree. Crafting generally requires a lot of supplies, and her organization of everything surely does make it uncluttered to me. There are crafts/sewing rooms out there where things are piled willy-nilly and every cardboard box and plastic bag holding supplies. The way her working space meshes smoothly with all her storage solutions makes this more than the “stash stuff in Ikea boxes” mentality a lot of other people have, I think. This is a place I would LOVE to be creating anything in! Thank you for posting it!

How is this not uncluttered? It’s the neatest craft room I have ever seen. They are notoriously tricky to get organized… Wait, is this about the box thing again? :)
