Unitasker Wednesday: The useless machine

All Unitasker Wednesday posts are jokes — we don’t want you to buy (or make) these items, we want you to laugh at their ridiculousness. Enjoy!

This week’s unitasker is a rare product that is better illustrated with a video than described with words. You can’t buy it in a store, but you can make one at home:

And, if I’m being really honest, I really want to build one — it’s so cute!

Thanks to reader Tom for sending us the link to this great unitasker.

Sometimes, you have to have *something* cute and useless. Sort of like the “all work and no play” thing.

For some reason this reminds me of the game my cats love to play. First they get inside a cardboard box with flaps and then jab their paws out lightning fast whenever the slightest movement is made on the outside of the box.

My grandfather built old fashioned things like this out of wood and rubber bands. You used a little knob to slide open the box marked ‘candy’. And a wooden snake would come out and ‘bite’ you. The snake had a little piece of metal where it’s tongue went, so it actually kinda hurt when it hit you.

    That is awesome!

Gonna have to look this up in 10 years or so when I have a child old enough to appreciate the construction of something like this. Heheh.

Agreed, awesome! You can flip the switch any time you want to bring new clutter into your home. Denied!

    I like it!

(It’s endearing that it turns itself off somehow.)

Sad as it sounds I’ve just watched the clip about 5 times I like it that much.

That could keep my husband and son occupied for hours! (so no…I’m not going to show this to them.)

Anyone else find it ironic that the ad is for “recycling bags” on Unitasker Wednesday? (Who BUYS bags to recycle?)

My father would love it as a gag gift to show off to his cronies. LOL. Totally useless!

This is truly enjoyable. This unknown product has been projected in a very simple way. Thanks a lot.

but if this is a “useless machine,” then it is not a unitasker, but a non-tasker.
