@momofthree – Amazon has these mini-cupcake liners available: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi.....tterer-20/. Although it says they’re two inches, which doesn’t sound particularly “mini” to me.

Sigh. Now I want cupcakes.

My uncle got our family the mini donut maker for Christmas (he’s out of state, so I didn’t think I could return it). My four kids BEGGED me to make them donuts, and I relented. And they only took about 45 minutes (not including cleaning time) and $5 worth of ingredients. The donuts were mediocre, but the kids absolutely loved them. We’ll probably make donuts a few more times before I sneak the machine off to Goodwill.

I guess it could work if you make the batter from scratch in very small amounts (or are comfortable throwing out mix); I’m assuming you don’t want a full batch because this would be the slowest possible way to get that. Not to mention the longer a store-bought mix sits around waiting for its turn to bake, the worse its rise.

for sweets sake….I have my grandmothers old thick metal mini muffin pans and muffin liner papers….I make mini cupcakes and mini muffins when the mood strikes. No special gadget required and on a cold chicago day like today, what better reason to turn on the oven and warm the kitchen and stink up the house with the aroma of minicupcakes or minimuffins….
I need to find a source for the mini cup liners, my supply from when grandma passed away TWENTY years ago is growing smaller (pun intended) by the day.
Grandma was caterer by trade so having a lot of these is not a waste of space, and the fact that I am still using them 20 years later says alot for the quality of them…not yellowed with age or brittle or even “old” looking.
