They usually turn out very tasty, and use fairly readily available ingredients, simple techniques, and don't take a lot of time or effort. Martha Stewart and Good Housekeeping recipes usually seem bland, and so many of the fancier foodie mags' recipes are just not practical for everyday, or ever (imho). The NYTimes also has practical recipes for tasty food, especially Mark Bittman's the Minimalist. The Real Simple fettucine bolognese is to die for! Real Simple recipes are the best! They usually turn out very tasty, and use fairly readily available ingredients, simple techniques, and don’t take a lot of time or effort.
