Diggin the wall color for real, for real. I was beginning to think I was the only person in the world that doesn't find all these non-color "neutrals" to be soothing. And orange is my fave color! :D

Hmm, seems like this is one of those things that you either like a lot or don't like at all.

@bnhymn, we've got our home on the market and hope to be moving soon. I might try an adaptation of your idea in my new home office, and will let you know.

this is awesome, i really like this idea. i'd kinda like to do that with one big picture cut into small pieces with a little bit of space between each piece like it is here.

Ruth is spot on.

There's no consistency to the images. Not in color, theme, subjects or common elements. A mosaic like this on a wall is an intriguing idea, but the images displayed would need some common element to unify the design and bring some sense of harmony to it. Right now, the wall looks incredibly chaotic, and the fiery orange colour on the wall doesn't help that impression.

I love the idea and the arrangement! And I'm in love with the orange :)

My only comment is that, while the photos have a wow-factor as a group, none of them stands out individually. Which is great if they're a bunch of random things you found cool and use for inspiration, but not very effective if you're trying to showcase each image in its own right.

I love it. I probably would have painted the wall a deep green, but i love the arrangement and the idea.

Wow, this was a wonderful surprise! Thanks very much, I'm certainly very happy with how it turned out.

@Sam They certainly have a wow-factor when you walk into the room! You are right, the images are 9x19cm each with 1cm spacing between them all.

@Ruth I can definitely see what you mean, but I personally find that they aren't that distracting at all. They almost blend in when I'm concentrating on something else! Your idea sounds great, if you go with it I'd love to know!

I don't care for it - all the different images compete for attention, and the only way to really look at any single image is to stand up and lean in close.

I might do something like this in a smaller area and with a theme, like beach scenes or close ups of leaves or the like.

Even though I see that it is purposeful and well laid out, it counts as visual clutter for me.

That is very cool.

What really makes it work is the aspect ratio: all those images are printed at almost 1:2, so they line up in nice geometric blocks with almost no effort. Makes me want to try it at home.
