How interesting! I played spin the bottle 30 years ago and we used a glass soda bottle, yep I’m dating myself, I’m 45 years old. If you know someone who played the game back in my day, this would be great for a gag gift. Bring back memories, or maybe not!

What about people with disabilities? This is obviously not very useful for the average party gamer but surely people with… um, *cough*gitis can greatly benefit from the fact that… um, that it’s electronic and therefore, like… um, it can be very… useful. I love your column but you shouldn’t dismiss this particular item so quickly.

I don’t think this is a unitasker at all. It has it’s inherent task which is as a substitute for a real bottle and it’s secondary task which is to serve as an object lesson in the absurdity of commercialized play.

This is my favorite unitasker as well, but my favorite part of it is the description: “Borrrring!” Hahaha I love it!
And I’m only 21, so it wasn’t too long ago that I was playing spin the bottle, but I honestly can’t imagine anyone even close to my age thinking this is a more useful (or better) gadget than a “gross empty bottle”. We used empty 40s, and they worked fine!

Isn’t the whole point of this game that you only play it when you’re pickled and without any forethought or preparation…what sort of romance/social desperado/hasn’t-got-the-message-stalker would keep this on hand “just in case” anyone wanted to play? Please tell me there isn’t really a mafrket for manufactured spontaneity!

This is why kids today have no imaginations. Everything in there lives is battery operated and require no imagination.

And I agree that the spin the bottle gadget is pointless.

Aw, I almost expected someone to write that they have bad knees and purchased this unitasker because it would prevent the bottle from hitting them while it’s spinning on the floor.

man, i’m only 32 but i really do want to say something like, back in my day…. we played authentic spin the bottle with a real “boring” “gross” empty bottle. are the 1980s and 90s really the dark ages now?
