In every place I&#039;ve lived in, there&#039;s a some kind of support bar running down the middle of the opening where the two cabinet doors meet.  (I&#039;m sure somebody will know the proper term for this).  The result is that there&#039;s not one large opening the width of two cabinet doors, but two smaller openings, the size of each door.

This makes it more difficult to use some types of shelf/storage solutions.  And &lt;i&gt;much&lt;/i&gt; more difficult when I actually have to work on the plumbing in there, or even just to clean.</description>
