Workspace of the Week: Wooden desk makeover

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Leia511’s newly reorganized home office:

Before:

After:

For the second week in a row we have a before-and-after selection for our feature. I really enjoy the after picture and seeing how she contained, cleared, and cleaned up her space. You can read more about her experience on her blog. Thank you, Leia551, for your inspiring submission!

Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.

Great re-do! I am betting that the purchase of those pretty basket files inspired a total declutter. I love the dark wood with the rich color on the walls. I would love to have a shallow hutch with the file sorters on it!

What a transformation! Love the red wall and the baskets add a nice touch. Great job!

Wow, what a difference. The first picture gets me all stressed out – I can feel the anxiety building up.

Leia511 must feel so much better now. Well done!!

    Cheers,

IF I cleaned up my desk and took a picture of it I too could be workspace of the week. A picture taken two hours after I cleaned it might still get my desk featured. The next day however my desk would begin being cluttered and as disorganized as it typically is. The habits of clutter do not go away when you take a picture of the newly cleaned desk. What does this desk look like today?

I REALLY really need to re-organize my desk…just have to get around to doing it…it is on my to-do list though…

This feature sure does show how much of a difference getting rid of the clutter can make…maybe a bit of inspirado for me :)

I’m hoping to get some time to clear my desk tomorrow. I hope I can make as radical a change as you did.

Just a little disconcerted that the white balance is so off on the second photo!
