I love the use of the coordinated storage containers. Their uniformity makes it look even more simplified and less cluttered. Great job!

Wow, some not-so-nice comments on here, from people who obviously didn’t actually read the blog that was linked in the post. For the guy who complained about the pics not being from the same angle – if you go to the blog she has side-by-sides of the before and after. The two chosen for this post happen to be from different angles. For the person who asked if it was actually uncluttered – Tabitha posts pictures of her throw-away and keep piles. Now that I’ve read Tabitha’s blog I’m even more impressed, and motivated to do this to my home office. Like her, I had made a good start but never truly finished.

Wow! I can’t believe that people are criticising this by claiming that it hasn’t been decluttered or there isn’t much change or her photography isn’t acceptable. Give her a break! Look closely, there clearly *is* a major change. It is not a crime to have lots of things if you need them and it is sensible to have them close by.
It has inspired me, I love the shelving. Thanks Tabitha!

I’m with MrPages on this one, it’s like the diet ads where the before shots are all dark and undersaturated and the after ones are touched up and bright and toned.

Doesn’t look like much change really, just put some stuff away, added an extra screen and printer and some more underdesk storage.

Also it looks like the keyboard has been photoshopped out? There’s a weird shadowy bit where it should have been and the image is burned out??

I really wish before and after pictures would be taken from the same angle with the same lighting.

Magazines do this all the time too, and it’s truly annoying.

The boxes were already there, but there´s still a difference, so I think it´s uncluttered, if people need lots of reference material and supplies it’s ok to have them, it’s not about not having alot, but about having just what’s needed properly organized, but I still preffer more austere spaces too (if only I could pull that off)…

Hi fellow commenters – thanks for your nice words.

And L. – in response to your question, yes, it was decluttered (thankfully). I had the boxes before and was using most of them already. So I really had to sort and throw away a lot of the superfluous stuff. It’s been amazing the difference it’s made and I’ve been able to keep it organized for several weeks now, which is a first.
