I was just thinking about how I was slowly uncluttering the Christmas decorations as I was pulling out the one box left over from my earlier buying frenzy. When I first moved into my house, I went to Walmart and bought every Christmassy thing in sight. A few years ago, I couldn’t decorate much so I bought a 2ft tree and put it on the dining room table. It had just enough room for the glass ornaments that I had collected and really loved. I liked the result so much that I did it the next year and threw out most of the junk that I’d bought. Now, it’s just the little tree, two stockings and a few stuffed animals. The only outside decorations this year are two wreaths. It’s the essence of the holiday without the clutter.
