I’m with Charity. There’s enough friggin’ perfume in my office as it is. And all those lovely ladies re-apply at lunch. Most days I go home with a headache.

I think his is a useful item. Years ago I was desperately trying to have a baby and was using some aromatherapy oils for this purpose – really dangerous in the office ). I would swap my electrical diffuser which required water in it for this one.
PS. I had an office to myself and was very reraly visited.

AAAHHHH NNNOOOOOOO!!!!!! save me from my habitual benadryl usage!! i am severely alergic to smelly crud. scented candles, oils, insense, perfume and eath boyond death Axe for “men” smelly crap. Now there is another way for people to ambush me with noxious fumes?? WHY!! WHY!! WHY!!! wow.. if my gaming group sees that product i will be in a world of hurt…..

@em & @Josh, and @people who are quick to assume this and other ridiculous unitaskers are clutter: It’s NOT clutter if you actually use it! It only becomes clutter once it’s stuck in a drawer and never sees the light of day again.

I really object to the release of one more volatile fragrance in the workplace. I have become increasingly sensitive to scented candles and air fresheners to the point that a lovely vanilla candle becomes a throat-burning distraction in my vicinity. Luckily I work in a school and not an office where everyone is “plugged in”.

Of course, 8th grade boys late in the day are no picnic either. Do you know they don’t have to shower in PE class anymore? What to do, what to do?

Actually, I think I want this… My office is a cube-farm and lots of people have those things called “candle-warmers”… it’s like a hot-plate sort of thing that warms up scented candles, so as to release the scent without lighting flame to it. The problem is that the fire inspector won’t let people plug them into their outlets.

Meh. That’s no worse than, say, an incense burner or glade plug-in. It probably even takes up less space than the burner I have. The difference would be, I suppose, that the oil diffuser is more likely to be allowed in a workplace.

I suppose the metal rings (which you fill with oil) that go on light bulbs are becoming much less popular now that most people are switching to the coiled-style energy saving bulbs. A pitty. Those were a great way to diffuse oil without creating additional clutter.

Well, I’m a geek and my office always smells like Doritos and Diet Coke and anything else caffeinated. All the outlets in the room are taken with electronic toys… so a nice aroma from my computers (other than frying wires, that is) would be a welcome change.

Actually this is one unitasker that I’d put to use. My office doesn’t have windows, and given the high stress level in my workplace I’d love to have one of these. We often work thru lunch — eating at our desks — so not only would I get the benefit of calming aromatherapy but the smell of food would dissipate faster. I like it!

Well, I could warm my cuticle oil in it.
Melt sealing wax for those “special” letters.
Warm sake in it.
I suppose it’s too small to coddle an egg…..?
